Floral Frocks with ModCloth

Hey Cats!

One of my favorite parts of spring is getting to wear fun dresses. After a few months of darker, heavier fabrics, wearing a spring dress in a bright pattern is a very freeing experience. I typically get a new dress for Easter each year, but this year I bought one for Ring Day instead. I had every intention of wearing it for Easter as well, but the more I looked at it, the more I decided it wasn’t “Easter-y” enough, so I wore one of my other favorite dresses.

If you’re looking for a new favorite dress this spring, you should definitely check out ModCloth! I was recently contacted by ModCloth to participate in their “Uniquely You” challenge for fashion bloggers. My job was to create an ensemble based around their gorgeous Bouquet of the Season dress, and I had so much fun!

I started (obviously) with the Bouquet of the Season Dress. First of all, I love the print and color scheme of this dress. That, coupled with the sweetheart strapless neckline makes it a beautiful, feminine choice. When I saw this dress, I knew I had to take the ensemble in a classic, timeless direction.

Next, I added the Charter School Cardigan in Ivory. I really love how a cardigan looks over a strapless sundress, and it makes the outfit appropriate for many different occasions!

For footwear, I chose these lovely Every Day of the Chic wedges. They’re a bit more modern than the regular nude pump, but still a classic style.

I decided to keep the jewelry simple and sweet. The Long-Awaited Earrings caught my eye because they’re not too fussy, but still dramatic enough to make a statement. I added the Knot a Moment Too Soon bangle to give the ensemble a dainty touch.

Finally, I chose the Garden Grandeur Clutch. I love the pop of turquoise this adds to the outfit, and how it gives this classic look a modern twist.

If you’re looking for a new dress this spring, head over to ModCloth! They have a great variety of floral frocks that will make you want to wear a dress almost every day of the week,

Outfit of the Day- High Waist, High Style

Hey Cats!

As I mentioned, I turned 21 on Saturday! I already shared my outfit from my first celebration with my family, and now I’ll show you what I wore for round two! I went to dinner with my two besties from my hometown, and it was so fun!

I am absolutely obsessed with these high-waisted shorts from Tickled Pink Boutique, my newest favorite little shop in Tyler. They have the cutest ….well, everything, and it’s very reasonable. Anyways, I found these chevron print high-waisted shorts a few weeks ago and fell in love! I knew they had to be added to the family. These are my first pair of high-waisted shorts. I’m a little late with this trend because I’ve never found a pair that looked good on me. I’m looking forward to many different casual and dressy options for these shorts!

I paired them with a tucked-in black, flowy tank from Loft, Target wedges, a vintage belt (it was my grandma’s- I’ve had it for literally 8 years and this is the first time I’ve successfully incorporated it into an outfit and I’m beyond thrilled), my Michael Kors watch I got for my birthday, a Lily and Laura bracelet, and Kendra Scott Morgan studs.

Unfortunately this picture is a little blurry,  but I had a great time celebrating with these lovely ladies!

What’s your favorite way to wear high-waisted shorts?

Outfit of the Day- Sassy Pants

Hey Cats!

August 3rd was my 21st birthday! It was a great weekend, and I got a couple of outfit posts out of the deal, too! One night I went to dinner with my family at my favorite Mexican food restaurant in Tyler.

I didn’t realize that I wasn’t looking at the camera until it was too late, so I’m stuck with this awkward photo. I wanted to wear something cute and comfortable, and I’ve been saving these shorts for my birthday! I saw these a while back and loved them, but it was back before I started working, so they weren’t really high on my purchase list. But, one weekend after payday, I was at Dillard’s and we met again–this time they were on sale. I immediately added them to my collection. I love these because of the bright colors and mixture of patterns- so fierce! They are no longer available, but this chevron print is a cute option! I paired it with my white flowy top from Loft (similar) and my new wedges from Target. I added earrings from Northgate Vintage, a Lily and Laura bracelet, and my kate spade bangle.

This picture is a better angle, and it’s with my sister! Check out the details of her outfit here, and stay tuned for the rest of my birthday outfits!

Outfit of the Day-Bachelorette Party!

Hey Cats!

My cousin’s bachelorette party was this past weekend, and it was a blast! We stayed in a precious hotel in downtown Dallas and had dinner and a lingerie shower. It was fun, but not too crazy, which was perfect! I was really excited to wear “going-out clothes”, since I don’t get to go out when I’m home.

This navy skirt is one of my favorites! It’s BCBGeneration, and it’s the perfect going-out skirt! I paired it with this top from Loft, and my favorite wedges (they’re old and I couldn’t find them online, but I like these from Steve Madden, these (also Steve), and these from Jessica Simpson). I decided to go with a bold necklace and smaller earrings. I wore the Neely necklace from Kendra Scott with the Morgan studs, also from Kendra. I finished it off with a Lily and Laura bracelet, and my kate spade idiom bangle.
